WWW (World Wide Web)- 1990 Tim Berners Lee
WWW is an internet based global information system. It makes available multimedia information from over 4 million computer around the world.
It is a huge collection of hyper text pages on the inernet. It is developed in Switzerland at the "European particle Research Center" (CERN) in the year 1989. The first text based prototype was operational in 1991.
Hypertext enables us to read and navigate text and visual information non-linear way based on what we know next.
Web server on the internet are collectively referred as the WWW. It is provide more information than you could digest in lifetime, link together in a various ways available for you to browse whenever you want.
Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
This protocol is used to manage the links between one hypertext document another. HTTP is a machanism that opens the related document when you select hyper text link no matter where that doc. resides on the web.
Web documents are marked for formatting and linking with HTML, and server use HTTP to delivered web page. It is non-propriatary platform independent open document architecture based on ISO standard. It works equally well on stand-alone computers, Lan's, WAN's and a global internet and all measure desktop computing platform (Unix,MAC)

Telnet (Remote Login)
The full form of telnet is Tele communication network. It is virtual terminal network allowing a users logged. Onto a TCP/IP host to access other host on the network. The telnet service allows an internet user to logged to another computer somewhere on the internet. So a user can execute the telnet command on his/her computer to start a login session on a remote computer. This action is also called remote login. Telnet is routenly used for such task as remotely configuring routers or running application on different host on the network.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
FTP is an intructive system. The FTP client that comes with windows NT or 2000 is a character based client.
FTP executes on top of TCP/IP stack an uses the OSI protocol to enable users an applications to transfer file among networked station.
Use Net (Public Messaging Service Newsgroup)
Usenet is stands for user network. It is an international, non-commercial network, linking thousands of unix based sites. It is the world largest electronic forum. It provide a way for message to be send among computers across the entire internet. People from all over the world participate in discussion thousands of topics in specific area of interests called Newsgroup.
IRC (Internet Relay Chat)
Chat is most convent immediate way to communicate with other via internet.
IRC is an application internet that developed by "Jakko Oikarinen" in Finland. Most but not all the conversation if somebody ask you for your password during the IRC session, don’t be tempered to give it. It could be that somebody is trying to tick you into giving away information about your system that he/she might be able to use against it.
Smileys
Way we talk to people face to face, the tone of our voice and our facial expression impart great many to what we say. The main use of smileys is to indicate expressions and emotion.
Search Engine
A search engine is a application software which are used for accessed on the internet. It searches a database of information according to user query. The provide a list of results that best match what the user is trying to find. In now days many search engine available on the internet, each with there own abilities and features.
A search engine is a program that searches through a database of webpages for particular information.
