1-AVI File Format (Audio Video Interleave File Format)


It is the standard windows format for audio/video data. This format exports animation and audio to a good quality audio and video developed by Microsoft.

2-MPEG Format (Motion Picture Expert Group)


It is a set of specification for compressing and playing back full motion video, including movies and video clips.

There are several MPEG audio/video formats.

  1. MPEG 1 (For digital camera)
  2. MPEG 2 (For high quality pictures in DVD)
  3. MPEG 4 (For downloading and streaming web content)

3-SWF File Format


Macromedia Flash is a file format of the Macromedia flash player for creating and displaying interactive vector based images and animated web graphics. It was designed to meet following goals:

5-DAT File Format (Digital Audio Tape)

For instance, if you open a VCD (video compact disk) and take a look at its contents, you will notice that there are several folders an not one single .mpg file. The files have either a VCD or DAT extension.

2-JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Groups)


.jpeg is format one of the most common graphics file formats for Web application. The JPEG format was created by a group of photo graphics experts to store full color spectrum, continuous images.

3-GIF (Graphic Interchange Formats)


It is another format that is widely used for picture displayed on the world wide web. .GIF file have .gif extension.


4-PDF (Portable Document Format)


This format was designed by Adobe. It is a file format that captures all the elements of a printed document as an electronic image. This can be then viewed, navigated , printed or forwarded to someone else. To view and use these files, you need the Acrobat reader.

5-BMP (Bitmap)


BMP format displays define a display space and the color for each pixels in the display space. A bitmap does not require information for each pixel on every row. It only needs to contain information when a color changes along a row. Thus, an image with solid color will require a small bitmap.
